1. I am thankful for a christian school that is a christian school as an administrator, i am often asked by parents about the programs our school offers. While we don’t offer all that we would like, i am grateful that our goal is not to be like a public school with a christian name! our entire philosophy and purpose is different. Christian schools did not begin because young people were receiving a bad education. Christian schools began to provide a place where the philosophy and atmosphere were christ honoring. I am grateful to enroll my children in a place where there is positive peer pressure to do right and to honor the lord.
New dorp’s christian school provides well-rounded excellent education opportunities for young staten island, ny students, focusing on the teachings of the bible as well as other traditional academic subjects. However, the defining qualities of our private school are how we meet new york state education standards and how about 95 percent of our students place in their first choice of special programs in public high schools and their first choice of parochial high schools.
When pointing out the attributes of christian schools, avid supporters tout the high-caliber of teaching. Private schools utilize the most modern teaching techniques as they are not bound by the same guidelines as public schools. One example is the conversational learning technique which is proven to be effective at capturing and holding students’ interest, as well as improving their ability to communicate, make decisions, and retain what they have learned. In private christian schools, teachers are qualified and dedicated christians as well as exemplary educators. As they help students master critical thinking, math, and reasoning ability, they also teach from the viewpoint of people who have a close, personal relationship with jesus christ.
Parents address so many important decisions when rearing children. And one of the most important is their education. It plays such a critical role in a child’s development that the schools your child attends can’t be a given. Children are unique individuals and there’s no “one-size-fits-all” school. Fortunately, there are many more options today than in the past: public schools, online schools, homeschooling, secular private schools, hybrid schools, and of course, private religion-based schools. Each type of school has its pros and cons. We believe christian schools have the most pros—hands down. But some may say we are a tad biased, so to be fair, we will explain the many pros of christian schools.
Here are some key advantages to private education in the asheville area: private christian education emphasizes spiritual growth: with private christian education, you do not have to sacrifice spiritual growth for academic rigor. Private christian education provides students with a christian worldview: private christian education helps shape the way students see the world around them. Private christian education offers smaller class sizes: smaller class sizes allow teachers to focus on individual students. Private christian education takes places in safer institutions: private schools are statistically safer than public institutions. Private christian education can include steam-based curriculum: our christian parochial school is the only one in western north carolina that provides steam-based education.
Bottom line: you want what’s best for your child, regardless of what “everyone else” is doing. Whether the default choice in your social circle is public school or private school, you owe it to your child’s future to research options and weigh the pros and cons of each educational model before deciding where to enroll.
